Hey guys, here are 3 macramé ornament ideas. I used a 12” dowel and 3mm macramé cord. For the 1st piece, cut 6 cords at 18”. Fold a cord in half to find the center. Place it over the dowel and bring the ends through the loop created, creating a lark’s head knot. Next, take the 1st cord from the left and bring it over the cord to the right of it. Use this as your holding cord. Take the now left cord and make double half hitch knots going toward the right. To do this, make a number 4 with the left cord over the holding cord. Bring the end through the loop created and do this twice. Repeat this with the rest of the cords until you reach the center. Now, take the 1st cord from the right and bring it over the cord to the left of it. Use this as your holding cord. Take the now right cord and make double half hitch knots going toward the left. To do this, make a backwards 4 with the right cord over the holding cord.

Bring the end through the loop created and do this twice. Repeat this with the rest of the cords until you reach the center. With the 2 middle cords, make a double half hitch knot going toward the right. Then, make another row of this. This time, with the 2 middle cords, make a double half hitch knot going toward the left. I used the length of a post-it to trim the ends. Then, I combed it. For the 2nd piece, cut 5 cords at 21”. Add the 5 cords to the dowel using a lark’s head knot. Use the 5th cord from the left as the holding cord. Bring it over the cord to the right of it and make a double half hitch knot going toward the right.

Continue doing this with the rest of the row. Take the now 5th cord from the left and use that as the holding cord. Bring it over the cord to the left of it and make a double half hitch knot going toward the left. Continue doing this with the rest of the row.
