The USPSTF is comprised of 16 medical specialists who thoroughly evaluate clinical information and run designs to examine what preventive health interventions are best, utilizing a structure of suggestion gradings from A to F. Any suggestions graded A or B by the job force are needed by the ACA to be covered by health insurance at no charge to clients.

The United States health department argued that the job force members are, in reality, designated, and under control of the health secretary, a function presently filled by anti-vaccine supporter Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

2 lower courts in Texas agreed the Christian group, stating that the federal government broke the consultations provision.

Today, in a 6– 3 judgment, the Supreme Court disagreed. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh, Elena Kagan, Ketanji Brown Jackson, and Sonia Sotomayor comprised the bulk.

Composing on their behalf, Kavanaugh discussed: “Task Force members are supervised and directed by the Secretary, who in turn answers to the President, preserving the chain of command in Article II.”

While the judgment indicates that protection of preventive healthcare is no longer under risk, the judgment clarifies that the health secretary has direct authority over the USPSTF. The explanation raises issue that the existing secretary, Kennedy, might eliminate job force members and/or reverse suggestions to match his individual ideology, as he is now making with the vaccine board of advisers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
