Throughout Tuesday’s Nvidia GTX keynote, CEO Jensen Huang revealed 2 so-called “personal AI supercomputers” called DGX Spark and DGX Station, both powered by the Grace Blackwell platform. In such a way, they are a brand-new kind of AI PC architecture particularly developed for running neural networks, and 5 significant PC makers will construct them.
These desktop systems, initially previewed as “Project DIGITS” in January, goal to bring AI abilities to designers, scientists, and information researchers who require to model, fine-tune, and run big AI designs in your area. DGX systems can function as standalone desktop AI laboratories or “bridge systems” that enable AI designers to move their designs from desktops to DGX Cloud or any AI cloud facilities with couple of code modifications.
Huang described the reasoning behind these brand-new items in a press release, stating, “AI has transformed every layer of the computing stack. It stands to reason a new class of computers would emerge—designed for AI-native developers and to run AI-native applications.”
The smaller sized DGX Spark includes the GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, with a Blackwell GPU and fifth-generation Tensor Cores, providing up to 1,000 trillion operations per second for AI.
The more effective DGX Station consists of the GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Desktop Superchip with 784GB of meaningful memory and the ConnectX-8 SuperNIC supporting networking speeds up to 800Gb/s.
The DGX architecture acts as a model that other producers can produce. Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo will establish and offer both DGX systems, with DGX Spark bookings opening today and DGX Station anticipated later on in 2025. Extra producing partners for the DGX Station consist of BOXX, Lambda, and Supermicro, with systems anticipated to be offered later on this year.
Considering that the systems will be made by various business, Nvidia did not point out prices for the systems. In January, Nvidia discussed that the base-level setup for a DGX Spark-like computer system would retail for around $3,000.
