Astronomers utilizing ESO’s VLT Survey Telescope have actually caught a lovely picture of a big nebula, whose enchanting look looks like the shape of a bat.

This VST image reveals a cloud of gas and dust, formed like a cosmic bat. The extreme red radiance originates from hydrogen atoms ionized by the extreme radiation of young stars within the cloud. “Located about 10,000 light-years away, this ‘cosmic bat’ is flying in between the southern constellations of Circinus and Norma,” ESO astronomers stated in a declaration.

This brand-new image was caught with ESO’s VLT Survey Telescope (VST) at Paranal Observatory in Chile’s Atacama Desert.
