You might have viewed the moon block out the sun throughout a solar eclipsehowever have you ever seen it do that to a world? Early Tuesday (Oct. 6) early morning, skywatchers throughout much of eastern North America will have a chance to enjoy a crescent moon pass straight in front of Jupiter. The uncommon positioning will not occur once again for 11 years.

Throughout the occasion, called a lunar occultation, Jupiter will vanish behind the moon for as much as about an hour before unexpectedly coming back. The occultation will show up before dawn from much of the eastern and main U.S., Canada and the Caribbean, while parts of Africa will experience the occasion throughout daytime, according to In-The-Sky. org
