“That’s wizardry”
The on-stage demonstration displayed rotations for a variety of different images, from mainly balanced dragons, horses, and bats to more complicated shapes like a sketch of a bread basket or a living cup of french fries (total with arms, legs, eyes, and a mouth). In each case, the machine-learning algorithm does an exceptional task presuming hidden parts of the design from what’s readily available in the initial 2D view, theorizing a complete set of legs on a side-view horse or the bottom of the Fry Man’s shoes.

Still, we’re sure the vector designs on phase were picked to reveal Project Turntable in its finest light. Without a public testable variation, it’s difficult to state how it would deal with strange edge cases or illustrations that do not carefully match things in its training information (which we do not understand the degree of).
However, what was revealed on phase has some apparent appeal for working artists. After seeing the on-stage video, Ars Creative Director Aurich Lawson exclaimed on our internal Slack, “That’s wizardry. I don’t know how well it really works—I bet not nearly as good as that demo a lot of the time—but I’m impressed.”
Job Turntable is likewise noteworthy due to the fact that it enhances initial work by human artists instead of changing it with images produced entire fabric by AI. While Project Turntable conserves those artists the effort of drawing their 2D things and characters from several angles, that human artist is still accountable for the general design and appearance of that initial work. Preserving that human design appears to be a bottom line for Adobe, which mentions that “even after the rotation, the vector graphics stay true to the original shape so you don’t lose any of the design’s essence.”
Adobe’s Brian Domingo informed the Creative Bloq blog site there’s still no assurance that Project Turntable will ever be launched commercially. Provided the apparent interest of the demonstration crowd at limit conference, however, we believe it’s safe to presume that Adobe will do whatever it can to get this function prepared for prime-time show as quickly as possible.
