Hello and welcome to another episode of Loxone Explained the
video format for all technology fans, Loxone partners and all those who would like to become one.
In today's issue, everything revolves around security. One aspect
in terms of security is effective burglary protection and this is exactly the
subject of today's issue! The year is drawing to a close, the days
are getting shorter and thus the number of burglaries increases again between October
and March, the risk increases by a whopping 40% according to the Association of the German Insurance Industry
. A building automated with Loxone already has all the prerequisites for
effective protection against burglary. We use sensors for a wide variety of functions.
For example, presence detection is not only used to activate the lighting for the
air conditioning or heating, but also to detect an attempted
break-in. The same applies, of course, to the door & window contact, the Loxone window handle Air
with its integrated vibration sensor and all other sensors.
In addition to the reliable
detection of unauthorized intrusions, the output of any alarms is also an
important aspect. we also use the existing facilities for this purpose . The "Alarm system"
module offers you all of the following functions . In a building automated with Loxone
, the silent alarm is activated first, for this purpose the Loxone Miniserver has
numerous notification features, such as the notification in the Loxone app, in
parallel to this, all Loxone Touch products emit a click signal. In the next step
, the acoustic alarm is set off, the audio server emits a shrill alarm tone via the built-in
loudspeakers and an alarm
chain is also triggered. This means that the miniserver sends a call to a predefined telephone number
and reports the attempted break-in.
If the call is not answered, an
attempt is made to reach a second number and the alarm chain is worked through. In
the next alarm level, the visual alarm is activated, i.e. the lighting starts to
flash and the flashing light of the alarm siren is activated to open the
shading to make the building visible in order to attract even more attention. And
last but not least, the outdoor siren is activated, in short the building uses all functions that
are available to it to draw attention to the attempted break- in. With the extensive
alarm functions of Loxone you can offer your customers the highest level of security.
In Upper Austria, Loxone even cooperates with one of the largest insurance groups in the
country, I have linked all the information and benefits to you here above.
Let's now look at
how all these functions are implemented with the help of the Loxone Config. One thing before
we get into configuration. If you do n't want to miss any more Loxone Explained in the future
, subscribe to our YouTube channel now and of course
we look forward to a thumbs up as always! First of all, the alarm system function
modules are searched for and inserted as usual using the F5 key. A dialog window opens with which
all Loxone sensors and actuators can be linked directly to the alarm system.
Activating the check box in the "Output" column activates the products that output the alarm status
. In my example, the click signal of the touch products is the lighting control
and audio zones of the individual rooms and the respective shading actuators.
In the
"Input" column you can now check all sensors that trigger the intrusion alarm, in my
case the movement and presence detectors as well as the door and window contacts, but not only Loxone's own
sensors and actuators can be integrated into the alarm system the inputs and outputs
of the module, you can include all products in the Loxone alarm system.
Next, I now integrate the sabotage contact of the alarm siren via input
I5. This only belongs negated, since the normal state of the sabotage contact
is closed. In my example, the alarm system is activated with the "leave home" function and deactivated again
with authorized entry using NFC code touch . For this I have prepared two
markers that I connect to the block. I do the same with the marker of the "good night
function". This operating mode activates the alarm system without a presence detector, so that you
can still move around the building, but the outer skin is protected from burglary. If you want to find out more about
the "leave home function" or "good night function", please write
it down in the comments below.
We would be happy to make our own
Loxone Explained Video about these functions. Now all we need is the integration of the Loxone alarm siren.
Two digital outputs of the alarm siren are available for this. The output for the flashlight
and the alarm siren are now connected to outputs Q5 and Q3. Now comes the best! The
functionality of the alarm system that has just been explained is set up with just one click thanks to the Loxone auto configuration
. Of course, thanks to the freely configurable software, the alarm system
can also be individually adapted to the needs of your customers. This
was an overview of the "alarm system" function blocks. As always, all details about all parameters
and setting options can be found in our online documentation.
