A Pacific cyclone called Polo blew up from a hurricane into an effective Category 5 cyclone in less than 24 hours on Tuesday (Sept. 22), with winds reaching speeds of 180 miles per hour (290 km/h). The storm, wandering off the southwest coast of Mexico, was reduced to a Category 4 storm on Wednesday (Sept. 23) however magnified back to Category 5 since Thursday (Sept. 24) early morning, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).
